Where is etang rendezvous

The lake bottom is mainly silt with gravel areas in the margins and shallows. Branches beneath the surface of the water have been removed to ensure the lake is as snag free as possible.

Night fishing is allowed and no permits are required. The lake bailiff is on hand for assistance or advice should you require it. All sides of the lake are fishable and thwre is ample water coverage for each angler using a 3 rod set up. Etang Rendezvous was first dug in and was originally a shooting venue.

Surrounded by acres of beautiful countryside and surrounded by nature it is the perfect location for anglers looking for peace and quiet. The lake became a fishery in and was acquired by its current owners Keith and Gareth in As of there are around mature carp to in excess of 60lbs. The largest caught in was a 62lb common which is one of at least 4 60lb plus carp in the lake.

There is a very good head of 30, 40 and 50lb carp. We strongly recommend that you read the catch reports. Bait boats are permitted to be used on the lake but are not critical as all areas are within casting distance. Bookings are Saturday to Saturday — arrival no earlier than 2pm and depart by 10am the following Saturday.

There are two lakeside cabins which you will have access and use of during your stay and are included in the cost. Contains a fully equipped kitchen, including oven and gas hob as well as a 6 seater table and chairs. There is a free view TV, gas cooker, microwave, toaster, fridge and freezer along with table and chairs, cutlery, crockery, pans and glasses. There are 2 fridge freezers for food and drinks and a large chest freezer for bait. Etang Rendezvous is in the region of Chateauroux, which is approximately 2 hours drive from Paris or 6 hours from Calais.

For those wishing to go via the overnight ferry from Portsmouth to St Malo the drive time is 4 hours. There is 12 acres of water set in 17 acres of land and with a maximum of 6 anglers this gives ample water for all those fishing. The lake depth ranges from 9ft at the Dam wall to 2ft in the shallows, the bottom being mainly silt with gravel in the margins and shallows. There are many reed beds, with shrubs and trees overhanging the water. All branches below the water line have been removed to facilitate fishing.

Night fishing is permitted and no licences or permits are required. It is not a venue where you will sit behind quiet rods. With a little thought the fish are very catchable, as our overall weekly tallies show, our best for being lbs for 4 anglers. We welcome bait boats and for those not owning one, they are available for hire see hire section. There is also a row boat on site that can be used for baiting up.

We ask that you use a good quality bait at the lake. This is not only better for the fish, but will improve your results, as digestible baits will pass through the fish easily and quickly and they will want to feed again, rather than waiting on the bottom with bloated bellies. If you require bait, please see our bait section. There is a large chest freezer for those wishing to bring frozen baits. Etang Rendezvous is essentially a bivvy lake, although it does have 2 chalets located at the far end of the lake, which are independently wired for mains electricity and a separate toilet.

One chalet is equipped with 2 bunk beds ie 4 beds a shower and washing facilities. The other is fully equipped with Sky TV, gas cooker, microwave, toaster, fridge and freezer along with table and chairs, cutlery, crockery, pans and glasses. Please note that no bed linen or towels are supplied. There is good reception for mobile phones. These are in place for your personal safety and the safety of the fish. For all enquiries please see contact details, or for booking enquiries please refer to availability.

Early booking is advised, as this is a popular venue. Cabin one is a fully equipped kitchen. This includes a gas oven and hob and a six seater table and chairs. There are also two fridge freezers ready and waiting for you to fill with all the great beer, cheese and wine that is available in the local area. We also have a large chest freezer should you wish to bring your own frozen bait and food. Cabin two is for those that may not wish to fish full time — or if you need a break from hauling large carp!!!

Following advice from George we spread out on the road side and got the gear all set up by mid afternoon in the sunshine although there was a chilly northerly breeze.

Nothing that night and nothing the next day except a large cat for Duncan and 2 Cats for Dan in the deeper water. Next night i lost a cat and managed a single common. Duncan blanked and Dan did another cat. We came to the conclusion that the previous anglers whilst nearly breaking there own record on the lake had smashed it up and filled it in with bait, only the cats were happy to munch there way through the huge amount of pellets and maize left in the lake.

We all had a big re-think Dan went for the cats in style and using his secret weapon cat rig started hooking into cats at an obscene rate which unfortunately dragged Dunc and i to his rescue to man handle these beasts to the scales. Dunc called time out and sunbathed another blank away and i considered taking up croquet for excitement.

As you can see from the catch report the week slowly improved and the bag grew but not without considerable soul searching, the cats became a damn nuisance in our quest to catch carp.

All things taken into consideration the lake is everything expected, facilities excellent, very clean and kept pristine by George and his team. Great focal point for the social part of the trip. Yes, but I would rather keep it quiet t so there is more opportunity for me. Happy to take up any cancellations! What a fantastic venue this is. Although listed as a Bivvy only water the facilities were superb.

Indeed, could be persuaded to take the wife there. We "smashed" the lake record for a cat, lb 4oz - taking numerous others, over 50lb. Fish to the far bank, 1 rod length out which is gravel for the carp. For the cats, fish in the middle, in the deaper water. Listen to George's advice. Been before, so we knew what was there. Plenty of freezer space, good cooking facitlites, good hot shower and sky tv - everything you would need.

We arrived at around 10am at the lake, refreshed, after again taking advantage of spending the night at the lake owners daughters house only 35 euros, for evening meal, bed and breakfast - highly recomeneded.

We knew the tactics to use, after a sucessful visit last year - so the runs started pretty much that day. The weather was up and down, but this did not seem to bother the fish - we caught at all times of the day and night, and in all weather conditions. Due to the recent netting, there was a lot less annoying small carp - so when you got a run, it was normally a decent fish, Still the best French lake we have been to!
